Chris Janson was born an only child in Perryville, Mo. He was drawn to music at an early age and started performing in bars when he was 11. After high school graduation, he chose a move to Nashville over going to college, despite a full scholarship offer. After sleeping in his car for three nights, he landed a year-long engagement at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in downtown Nashville. In addition to singing and songwriting, he also plays guitar, harmonica, bass, banjo, piano, mandolin, drums and Dobro. He credits a wide variety of artists as his inspiration, from Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings to the Rolling Stones and the Black Crowes. He released his debut single, "'Til a Woman Comes Along," in early 2010.
