QUOTES FROM THIS IS HOW I MADE IT!

2 Chainz talks about missing out on being a top college basketball recruit: “I was recruited by a few division onecolleges. I had boxes of recruitment letters… And I was somebody that was so smart sometimes that I could almost bedumb. And I just remember getting locked up in high school and missing my SAT’s… and then I wasn’t able to get to [go] school. So everybody lost interest in me. Everybody! God made a positive out of that because although it deteriorated my thoughts of playing ball, I picked up that microphone and I haven’t looked back.”

2 Chainz on pursuing rapping after his dreams of being a basketball player ended: “I had super love and passion forbasketball. I liked dribbling and just trying to get attention and I think that’s where the whole entertainment vibe came from. When I used to do little moves with the ball…people used to cheer and I like[d] that feeling, so I felt like… when you got that mic in your hand it’s the same thing.”

2 Chainz on how he changed his life and career: “The last two years definitely built me up to be this person. You know it wasn’t easy – but I was down with taking it one fan at a time.”
