SZA gives us a stripped version of “Go Gina”

SZA is one of the most enjoyable singers on the planet at the moment. And when we say “Singer” we don’t just mean someone who gives us a few singles and videos each year and poses for pictures that eventually become (admittedly enjoyable) memes. No, by “Singer” we mean exactly that. Someone who sings, and who is good at singing and who loves singing. If you don’t believe SZA is one such singer, then you need to pay serious attention to the video below. In it, the “CTRL” album-maker performs the most delightful, stripped back version of her track, “Go Gina”.She’s filmed in the woods, performing with nothing but the backing of a bass guitarist. Simonm Cowell once said that singing a ballad will leave you exposed as a singer, you can’t hide. And in this performance, SZA does anything but hide.The video was a collaboration between VEVO Lift and Pitchfork Magazine which you can watch below:
