"Trouble Dey Sleep" check out Eedris

Legendary Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem has just released his new music video for a song titled "Trouble Dey Sleep". The track features fellow Nigerian artist, Konga and seems to be a strong message to Nigeria's music industry and government. At first we thought the song would bear some reference to Fela Kuti’s hit, Trouble Sleep Yanga Wake Am, but it turns out that the two are completely unrelated. However, Fela would probably be proud of the direction that Eedris Abdulkarem is trying to take Nigerian hip hop. Eedris revealed the inspiration for the song: “I was inspired by the challenge from the Minister of Information which he felt should not be a one way thing, because to make Nigeria great requires sacrifices from all; both the high class as well as the common man.”Check out the video for “Trouble Dey Sleep” below:
