Britney Spears tops Forbes list

Britney Spears has been named Forbes number one top earning woman in music for 2012. According to the magazine, the "Womanizer" singer made $58 million within May 2011 and May 2012, earning her income from her 2011 platinum selling album, world tour, endorsements and her fragrance line with Elizabeth Arden.

Taylor swift came in second with $57 million made from her tour which raked in over $1 million a night, her latest album which sold over one million copies in its first week as well as endorsements.

Rihanna was third with $53 million earned from touring, Vita Coco and Nivea endorsements as well as chart topping hits like "We Found Love". Lady Gaga and Katy Perry concluded the top five, each making $52 and $45 million respectively.

Other artists that made the list include Sade, Beyonce, Shakira, Madonna and Adele.
