The 24-year old computer science graduate from Ebonyi State University is currently enjoying life to the full after winning the MTV & MTN VJ Search in Nigeria in November 2007.
Cynthia was waiting for her post graduate national service call up papers when she won the VJ search; within weeks she had moved seamlessly into her new role as the host of hit Naija TV show MTV & MTN Naija Hits on MTV base (DStv Channel 322) and STV. She subsequently went on to host various shows on MTV base including Club MTV GUINNESS EXTRA SMOOTH 2007 and 2008,MTV MAKING THE VIDEO WITH SHELL 2007 and 2008,ROAD TO MAMA LAGOS,BNC FASHIONABLY LOUD e.t.c. She went on to appear as a presenter at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Nigeria (2008) and Kenya (2009).She currently co-hosts the MTN YELLOW TOP 10 COUNTDOWN which is syndicated on 40 radio stations across Nigeria and she stars on the Mnet series 'TINSEL' as Ify.
Appearing in front of the cameras comes naturally for extrovert Cynthia. The streetwise Lagos-born star has her future all scoped out: fascinated by the business end of the music scene, Cynthia has plans to be a showbiz mogul within the next 5 years!
Cynthia’s music idol is Lauren Hill and although hip hop is her first love, she’s open to music influences of all kinds - not averse to some cool neo soul from John Legend, upbeat R&B from Destiny’s Child or the pop craze that's taken over. Singing, rapping, and dancing are in her blood too, and you’ll often find Cynthia hanging out with her friends at her local karaoke bar.
Cynthia sobbed with joy when she won her gig on MTV base but there are no tears on this girl’s face these days - just pure happiness at the combination of luck and talent which has brought her so far, so young!
