17 August 2012
Flo Rida’s “Whistle” takes the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, ending Carly Rae Jepsen’s nine-week run at the summit with her debut single, "Call Me Maybe." "Whistle" marks the Miami rapper’s third Hot 100 chart-topper following his 2008 10-week run with "Low," featuring T-Pain, and 2009's six-week leader, "Right Round." Ellie Goulding’s “Lights” holds at number two, Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” falls to number three, Katy Perry’s "Wide Awake" holds at number four and Maroon 5’s "Payphone" featuring Wiz Khalifa stays at number five.

According to Billboard, Flo Rida is the 12th solo rapper to score three number one singles on the Hot 100 chart. He joins Diddy, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Eminem, Nelly, Kanye West, Ja Rule, Snoop Dogg, T.I. and T-Pain.
