Rapper Mac Miller is being sued by fellow rapper Lord Finesse over the use of Finesse’s 1995 song, “Hip 2 Da Game.” According to Finesse, Mac used the track in his 2010 hit “Kool Aid and Frozen Pizza,” the song that made Miller famous. Miller defended himself on Twitter, writing that he “wanted to rhyme and pay homage, no other intentions.” Miller went on to suggest Finesse did the same thing by never clearing the sample he lifted from Oscar Peterson to create “Hip 2 Da Game.”

Miller also tweeted that Lord Finesse originally loved the track and the two planned to collaborate in the future.
