While Maroon 5 and Young Money may seem very different, they have one thing in common – PJ Morton. Morton, Maroon 5’s keyboardist, has recently signed with Young Money to release his first solo album. His debut EP Following My First Mind, just dropped yesterday, and his first single, “Heavy,” actually features Maroon 5’s lead singer, Adam Levine. Morton told AllHipHop.com, “I was excited from the start about the opportunity with Young Money, because they are about the only label that is about creativity and individuality.” Young Money’s Mack Maine is equally excited about PJ working with the label, saying, “I signed PJ because his music does not just soothe your ears, it soothes your soul.”
Young Money includes artists such as Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Busta Rhymes, Limp Bizkit, Tyga, Jay Sean and others.
