Alex Okosi, SVP & MD of VIacom INternational Media Networks revealed that supermodel Alek Wek, former Nigerian head of state Chief OLUSEGUN OBASANJO, international footballer EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR, hip hop pioneer Russell Simmons and R&B artist Akon woudl be among the "thought leaders" in the multimedia campaign, which brings African youth face to face with opinion formers, allowing them to interact with and learn from successful entrepreneurs, politicans, artists or sporting heroes. Other speakers included Jennifer Roberti and Kola Oyeyemi from MTN, who revealed that 8 people would win a trip to the USA in September to meet with Akon.
MTV Base VJs Vanessa Mdee has already wrapped shooting with Alek Wek and Russell Simmons in New York, while episode featuring Chief Obasanjo was taped at the weekend in Nigeria. Three further thought leaders remain to be revealed for the 8-part series, which previously featured Nobel prize winner President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Alicia Keys, Hugh Masekela, Sir Richard Branson, Julius Malema, Aliko Dangote, and Ben Murray-Bruce.
