Catch the repeat Friday 14 Sept @ 14:05 CAT on MTV Base!
This is it ladies and gents! The moment you've all been waiting for. The nominees for the 2012 VMAs are in! Which of your favorite pop princesses, raging rockers, and swag-slinging rap stars are included on the esteemed list?
Following a hilarious appearance at the 2011 show, comedian Kevin Hart will take the lead as our host of the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards. Known for his LOL-worthy original standup, as well as his reoccurring role in the Scary Movie franchise, Hart will bring the giggles to the golden coast when he takes the Staples Center stage live from Los Angeles on Thursday, Sept. 6th at 8/7c - Airing Saturday 8 September @ 16:30 CAT on MTV Base.
Adding to our impressive – and still growing – lineup of VMA performers is the ever-outstanding P!nk. Last time the 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)' rocker performed back in 2009, she wowed the crowd with aerial tricks and acrobatic vocals. P!nk joins the previously announced Brit boys of One Direction who will grace the stage for their first ever VMA performance. Also on the bill - esteemed VMA veteran Alicia Keys, who is sure to knock our socks off with her powerhouse vocals. With even more performer announcements on the horizon, the 2012 VMAs are sure to be filled with just as many jaw-dropping, show-stopping moments as last year's live show.
Feeling foggy at how rad it was? Let's recap: The 2011 VMAs broke records with the most viewers ever (12.4 million!) and the most Tweets about an award show, no doubt due to the amazing performances and Beyoncé's unexpected baby bump reveal. Between Lady Gaga's striking appearance as Jo Calderone, Adele's soulful vocals and Jay-Z and Kanye West's surprise performance of "Otis," we know we have to up the ante for the 2012 show!
Who will win a Moonman at the 2012 VMAs? Tune in Saturday 8 September @ 16:30 CAT on MTV Base!
