Imagine life as a multiplatinum recording artist. Youʼre a successful businessman, father, of six, devoted husband, caretaker and supporter of your extended family. You tour the world in private jets playing to sold out audiences. In your home state of Atlanta, youʼre so prolific that youʼre known as the "King of the South". Then one day, it all comes to a screeching halt.
This is the second time in two years that TI has been incarcerated and in the Kingʼs absence the Queens had to deal with all the jesters. Three of TIʼs six children live with them: stepdaughter Zonnique "Niq Niq," (15) and sons King (6) and Major (3), who barely recognizes his dad because heʼs been away. Add a whole crib full of extended family, friends and business partners clamoring for his time and TI will find it hard to balance being a husband, father (at home and at a distance), friend and international star. Not to mention facing a new set of restrictions and obstacles due to his probation; no more felons, no more losers, no more hangers on.
Through it all, Tameka has stood by his side. But Tamekaʼs not just a wife and mother. A former member of 90ʼs R&B group Xscape, Tameka has used her musical experience to create and manage the OMG Girlz, a teen singing group comprised of her daughter "Niq Niq" and two of her girlfriends. She is also a businesswoman who runs her own nail salon, Tinyʼs Nail Bar. She and TI are passionately in love but both know that this incarceration has to be his last because their family wonʼt survive another.
Atlanta based recording artist TI is that man. Last year, TIʼs life hit the PAUSE button when he was sentenced to 11-months in federal prison for a parole violation on a prior conviction. VH1ʼs new 10 episode, half-hour series, the TI PROJECT, will follow TI as heʼs released from prison, reunited with his wife, Tameka (aka Tiny), and six kids, and is thrust back into his "larger than life" life with new rules to live by. One thing is for certain TI loves his family. But can the King stay on the straight and narrow while juggling the chaos of his Kingdom?
